Wow...when I RSVP'ed, there was no message thread, so I created my own. Apparently we did so about the same time. Oh well.

Regardless whether I have to post here or the other thread, I plan to join the meeting.

Quick question for you, Jeff. What are the post points for and how are they valued? I notice that a reply here was 21 points and the thread that I created myself was 5? Not that I care too much, but it's there, so I thought I'd ask.

I will take that one.  The point system is standard with CS, and we weren't really using it...but since you brought it up and we are trying to use the forums alot more I re-enabled the display for people and change the values. They had no rhym or reason before but i have just changed them to be 10 points for starting a thread and 5 for a reply.

Thanks for clearing the up, Josh. I don't care too much about points (there is always someone with more free time to be posting), but you're probably right about that for some it may be an attractive way to lure more forum writers.

And yeah, the old weighting of points was weird. I think that it was based on activity...so creating a thread would be 5 points, a reply would be 10, but would make the original message go up to 21, and so on...inflating the "value" of the message that was replied to most. Kind of weird.
