Windows VISTA, is it not ready for Scan & Fax..???

    Dear Members,

I'm using a Windows VISTA Home Premium edition in my HP Notebook. I'm also using an HP Laserjet 3015 All-in-One printer.

My Windows VISTA edition doesn't allow me to Scan & fax from my Machine. It actually doesn't search my Scan or fax device in the "Add New Hardware Menu". It's simply ridiculous.

I contacted the HP people & they say that VISTA HOME PREMIUM edition is not capable to Scan & fax. This OD doesn't support Scan & fax function. It's the limitation of this OS & not the HP.

Can anyone, has any solution to this. Can any one help me out resolving this issue. I shall be grateful......indeed.

    Thanks to All.

I have a Brother All-in-one and Vista only recognizes it as a printer. To get the scan & fax features, I have to install Brother's proprietary software, which can be downloaded for free from Brother's site. Perhaps HP has something similar for your model.

Unfortunately, HP has not created Vista-compatible software (other than print drivers) for your model. Sad
I doubt the XP software would work for your all in one under Vista; I wouldn't bother trying it, it would just cause problems.

Keep an eye on the HP site for updates:

Ditch HP. We had simliar problems when XP came out and we bought a Brand New HP Printer that on the box stated XP Ready Logo.  Well after installing the printer XP could not find the printer so we installed the CD and XP stated that the Driver are not M$ Certified continue with installation. We said yes.  After install to the horror we found out that over half the features did not work. It took a few weeks of back and forth with Support and finally a honest person told us that thet will not make XP Drivers for the Printer for the RD stated that it would cost too much money to make XP drivers so instead just buy a new HP Printer . We asked what about the almost $1,000.00 we just spent.  Um. um um, sorry.

Get rid of the HP crap.
