    Hi everyone,

I'd like to suggest windowsvistamagazine.co.uk. We're trying to move away from the more techy bits of Windows Vista and go for what you can do with it. Have a look and let me know what you think.

Re: Index: Connected to Vista Bookmarks

Thanks Josh. You might have read a different one to the UK edition if your based in the States, as each region has a variation on the mag, but I think the essential idea is still the same.

Will try and keep up to date on these forums; lots of cool information, I'll pop by and contribute when I can :)

    Chris.

Re: Index: Connected to Vista Bookmarks

Hi, Chris.  Welcome to Windows Connected!

I will be adding a bookmark to Windows Vista Magazine to Connected to Vista Bookmarks.   It has been in my RSS feeds for a while now.  I am glad you mentioned that there is a variation for each region.  Because my RSS feed is to the UK site, when I clicked on the subscription link, I was taken to the page for the UK, never knowing there are regional versions.  I believe its time to change my feed.  :)

Re: Index: Connected to Vista Bookmarks

Awesome, thanks for the link Corrine.

The regional settings are still taking a while to set up now, but I'd suggest subscribing to both the US and UK feeds, as the UK edition of the magazine (i.e. the one I'm working on) has a dedicated online editor (i.e. me!) to make sure the website is up to date and continually refreshed with content. Our friends in the US are still sorting the online side of their magazine out, so it might be a while before you start seeing some fresh content coming from their side.

Hi Chris, and welcome! I used to subscribe to PC Plus for many years. It was a gift from a friend in the UK who commuted back & forth regularly between England and Canada, so he would just bring the issues over himself. I always enjoyed reading them front to back, and the free proggys on the cover CDs were handy too!

Hi James, thanks! PC Plus is still going, definitely more technically orientated than our mag though!

    Vista Power Users Guide

    Hi Corrine / Chris_WVM

Since you listed my Vista Power Users Guide (the link for which here is wrong by the way, you've put http://windowsconnected.com/controlpanel/blogs/www.inspirare.net/pdf/VistaPower.pdf)...

...the document has been updated and expanded with a big emphasis on solving problems and bugs in Vista.  I've also added a versioning appendix so people can see what's new and an about the author section (for the hell of it!)

I'd like to remind people that while there are other Vista tutorial guides floating around for sale sometimes up to £20 each, my 62 page extensive guide remains and will always remain COMPLETELY FREE.  Smile  Though if anybody finds it really useful and wants to make a small contribution of, say £1 or so I'd be extremely grateful.  They can contribute to my paypal account mike@inspirare.net.  At 4,500+ downloads so far that would have been well cool  Wink  but like I say it's entirely optional and down to the individual.

The guide can be found at www.inspirare.net/pdf/VistaPower.pdf

    Cheers,

    Mike
