I think the timing is right for a big holiday season for Windows Vista, as you point out. You now have a fairly rich driver enviornment. You have a number of devices that are made for and all work well on vista. The amount of software on the market that run on Windows Vista has matured to the point that many are aware of UAC or designed to work well with it. You will see more business adoption and consumer adoption just as people try to use up their budgets for the year, and obtain new computers.
