Zune 2 x64 Software Doesn't Install

When attempting to install the x86 version of the Zune software on an x64 edition of Vista or LH Server (yeah, I know) says you need to download the x64 version of the software. Well, here's the link to download the x64 version - 64-bit version, problem is that it won't do you much good. The x64 installer fails for everyone I've contacted on both Vista x64 and LH Server x64 with the following error;

Me and many others have attempted many methods to get it to install but it just won't fly. If anyone has any luck, please post a reply and let us all know.

By the way, I've installed on my x86 Vista laptop and updated my Zune. Both the new firmware and software rock!

I was able to install on Vista Enterprise X64 just fine. I downloaded the installer on an x86 Vista workstation, and just copied the x64 to the x64 workstation. Install worked as expected.

Microsoft Zune, Microsoft Zunephone is f*ing rip off from Apple's Ipod and Iphone! I would never buy Zunephone or Zune media player ... even if I would get it for free. If, I would give it to my friend or someone I know.

Zunephone # Iphone, some similarities here. ;D

I have the 64-bit version of Vista Ultimate and everything is working great with version 2.

This might help: forums.zune.net/.../ShowPost.aspx

Download the package linked towards the bottom, extract it, and run the setup from the x64 folder.

Worked fine for me on Vista Ultimate x64 (with the x64 installer)

I guess I'm just lucky :)

Same here, having the same problem. How sad, Microsoft can't even ensure that their own product works with their own OS.

Failed with a Run. So I saved Package to local machine. Right click, Run As Administrator. Installed fine.
