Windows 7 gets a name

Mike Nash posted at the Windows Vista blog today that Window 7 now has a name. It will be called simply Windows 7.  To be honest, not he most creative, but I like the name.  Will keep things easy. I am glad marketing didn’t make them come up with something cutesy. Though I was secretly hoping they would name it Windows Connected and offer me millions of dollars for my domain names….hey, one can dream.

Now why they decided to use the Windows Vista blog to introduce Windows 7 is a bit odd choice, but hey who cares.  Coming up we will be posting a lot more content about Windows 7 as detail emerge via the PDC and Winhec and hopefully get our own first hand experience with the product.

I too prefer the name 'Windows 7.'  Simple and technical, which is how an OS should be.
