CBS Buys CNET for 1.8 Billion

SmallSizedCBSCorpLogo[27] + money =   redball

This seems to be a week of big deal...first HP & EDS and today CBS corporation has announced that it has entered and agreement to acquire CNET networks for $11.50 a share or approximately 1.8 Billion.

I think more and more media outlets are realizing just how powerful a tool the Internet can be. The big question to me is will this mean any significant changes at CNet. Will CBS rebrand?  It is a fairly widely recongnized outlet to IT folks... Will the enviornment change to reflect CBS and the traditional media more? Will URL's like News.com be leveraged for more mainstream new coverage?

 Thoughts?
