Weekly Roundup - CES Edition

I am back home and starting to decompress from the trip.  Here is a Weekly Roundup devoted to interesting CES stuff.  How can you do a news roundup during a CES week? well it won't be easy..but here goes nothing.

• Bill Gates Spoof of his last day was the highlight of the CES keynote, sad but true.

• NewsGator Sets Apps Free - I am now a bigger FeedDemon fan...have a feed or two to you want to recommend?
• HD-DVD got knocked around a bunch this week. I hope they can hold out through this year and maybe we can just skip adopting an HD disk format.  The one problem I see is that Video will need go through the same...DRM cycle that Music did, which means very restrictive use at first.
• Still no Ultimate Extras in sight...thanks for keeping the pressure on Long
• Windows Home Server Power Pack 1 - New Features coming to a Home Server Near you this spring...
• Another Windows Vista SP1 RC build went to testers...must be getting close now.
• Jeff Raikes out, Juniper guy in - Later this year Jeff Raikes is leaving Microsoft. What to me is the most shocking about this is they are bringing in an outside guy.  This says to me they are desperate for new blood.
• Microsoft to start charging for Windows Mobile Messenger on Symbian
• Origami 2.0 for UMPC's shipped to OEM's
• Gizmodo has pissed off the blogging community with its little "TV-B-Gone" stunts at CES.  Some folks are calling for a GIZ Ban.  Me, I think it gives blogger's a bad name for sure, but lets not over react. I think a measured response is needed such as limiting the GIZ slots to a couple of folks next year which will severely limit its ability to cover such a large show.
• Speaking of GIZ, they did get a classic clip out of Bill Gates...check this out and read into it what you will about Windows Vista.
