Staring in 2008 Tech-Ed in the US won't just have two tracks it will quite literally have two separate shows. The first event will be a developer focused track that will happen June 3-6 and the IT professional focused session will take place the 10-13th. More details here
I personally don't like this idea. Part of the draw for TechEd has always been the easy access to a diverse set of topic to choose from. As IT professional increasingly span the into coding and vice versa this now means that you either have to stay for over 10 days or more to experience everything. If you do want to attend both events sure reads to me like you now have to pay the registration fee TWICE....
