3rd party Media Extenders for Vista, Finally

Today at Digital Life several vendors has their official unveiling of some new Extenders for Windows Vista. The usual batch of vendor are offering up devices such as Cisco (as Linksys), D-Link, HP, and Niveus.  Up until now the only extender that you could get for Windows Vista was the Xbox 360. A bit pricey if all you really wanted was the extender capabilities.

The lack of any updates for the existing crop of Media Center 2005 extenders that might allow them to work with Windows Vista has left a bad taste in many early Media Center extender adopters. Some have even decided against adopting Windows Vista due to the cost or replacing these devices and the fact that the only thing they could even get would be the Xbox. It will be interesting to see if the adoption rate of these devices is high.
