Microsoft SharedView Public Beta (formerly Codename Tahiti)

Microsoft has launched a public beta of the former "Tahiti" beta product and rebranded it "SharedView".  You can grab the download here.

You can think of this as a hybrid collabrative experience that Microsoft is putting out which is a cross between Windows Meeting Space and the web hosted "LiveMeeting" services. It is targeted at the small (sub 15) meeting spaces and requires you to sign in with a Windows Live ID.

Overview

More effective meetings and phone calls
Connect with up to 15 people in different locations and get your point across by showing them what's on your screen.

Work together in real time
Share, review, and update documents with multiple people in real time.

Use anytime, anywhere
SharedView is easy to use, from anywhere, at a moment's notice.

SharedView looks like a useful collaboration tool, however I'm a little dubious about running it by the idea of having to sign in with a Windows Live ID. Is it possible to integrate this with Live Communications Server, which we currently run? It would be good if our users could sign in with the same ID that they use to sign in to Office Live Communicator, rather than having to obtain a new, or use a personal, Windows Live ID.

Groove is more workspace/team collaboration where you have access for long periods of times to the same docs (like sharepoint).  This is more a "netmeeting", meeting space, livemeeting type product for hosting meetings. or atleast that is my take on it.  I have been wrong before, so play with it and let me know.

as for LCS integration the answer on that is decidedly not, and i can tell you why.  That are going to want more people to adopt Office Communications server with will have an interna hosted "Livemeeeting" component. This will tye into Office communicator and allow what you are requesting.
