Animated Cursor Patch Coming Tuesday For Windows

Last week there was an exploit annouced, that had apparently been known since late in December 2006.  This exploit affects all versions of Windows, including Windows Vista.  Tomorrow (4/3/2007) Microsoft will release an out of band patch for this exploit, if the patch passes the internal testing that Microsoft is currently doing.

Since there are known exploits in the wild you should be extra vigalant with your email, especially with regards to attachments. You should block the file type if you are capable on your HTTP proxy and mail gateways or other network appliances that are capable if you are in a position to do so. And of course be prepared to package this patch and deploy it as soon as your internal testing is complete.

If I am not mistaken I think this might be the first real security patch issued for Windows Vista.
