Dave Massy Is Leaving Microsoft

Dave MassyI am sorry that I missed this intially, but in a recent post on the IE team blog Dave Massy a Senior Program Manager with the Internet Explorer team announced, very subtely, that after eleven years with Microsoft he would be leaving to pursue new adventures. He says in his own weblog that his reasons are personal and that he needed to make a few changes in his life.

Dave has worked on a number of different IE releases including 4,5,5.5,6, and then did a brief stint as a developer evangalist before returning to work on IE 7. He celebarted the birth of his first child, a son, in 2005.

We wish you the best of luck in your new adventure Dave.

Glad he's leaving, now if they'd scrap the rest of the good programmers they have on IE it can die faster and we can all go off to use a decent browser

IE is not likely to go away. I expect the team to find someone to replace me who is at least as capable as I was. There are many people on the IE team and I do not expect my absence to have any real impact. IE7 is a great step forward but the team is well aware for the work needed on future versions. Wishing that IE will die is silly and isn't going to happen. Instead of silly troll like comments such as these you might want to think about offering constructive criticism and establishing a dialog so your feedback is taken more seriously.
