Microsoft, AMD, Acer, and Me

Happy New Year! As you may have noticed I have been a little absent over the holidays this year.  We spent Christmas and New Years with my wife's family this year and the complete lack of a wireless internet connection and my own desire to focus on family kept my internet usage to a minimum.  I feel refreshed and renewed and am now ready to kick off what I hope will be a wonderful year.

Yes, I too got a notebook from Microsoft, Acer, and AMD. A long list of people have recieved these and it seems this has caused quite a stir while I was away.  I got it shipped down to the in-laws to get a little hands on time but the lack of internet has prevented my disclosure to all of you until now. It seems from what I have gathered that some have not taken too kindly to this. Here are my thoughts...

I am in no way a professional jornalist, I am a technologist. I have a day job like many other bloggers and I started this site to help spread information about Windows that I learned while doing my day job and from my personal experiences with Windows and related Microsoft technology.  I am going to keep the laptop and here is why.  I don't even have a machine that is capable of running Windows Vista x64 at home and having this machine at my disposal will allow me generate more x64 related content. This notebook is one of very few on the market that is capable of running Windows Vista x64 and being a notebook it will allow me more time to spend with the machine and test different mobile aspects of Windows Vista x64.

I am glad you have some sense, unlike some other nutty bloggers.  Hope you enjoy the laptop, and awaiting your review :)
