Over 19,500 Drivers on the Windows Vista DVD

Over 19,500 drivers are shipping on the Windows Vista DVD now that that is pretty amazing....it is almost twice the number that shipped with Windows XP which weighed in at about 10,000 drivers.  Windows Update, which Microsoft is leveraging very heavily for Windows Vista, now has over 11,700 drivers available compared to just 2,000 when Windows XP shipped. That is over *31,000 device drivers...holy cow!

Keep in mind that each of these drivers can cover many devices sometimes and that adds up to a whole lot of devices which will work right out of the box on Windows Vista and even more that will quickly be up and running after a visit to Windows Update

Be sure to allow Windows to check for updates during your install this will ensure you get the latest and greatest.

* assumes that the drivers from Windows Update aren't replacements for the drivers that ship with Windows Vista.
