Microsoft names next generation Office "2007 Microsoft Office system"

Microsoft tonight officially announced the new name and pricing for Office "12".  The name is very similar to what was rumored a couple of weeks ago by Bink.nu and Microsoft-watch, only real difference it seems is the 2007 is in front on some of the placement.

It's a 'system' now is it? huh.

Anyway, maybe they decided to give up on the frontpage thing. From my limited experience with frontpage and from what i've heard it was pretty horrible. Also, there are so many other ways for people to make their own websites online, blogs etc maybe they decided to concentrate on other things. I can't imagine professional web developers using frontpage and I think we're past the stage in the evolution of the internet where companies would get their it admin to throw a website together with frontpage because it woldn't be professional enough.

btw what is groove?...i'll go look on microsoft website.

Phew! FrontPage is dis-continued. SharePoint Designer 2007 and Expression Web Designer are its replacements which r aimed @ Professional Web Developers. Bye Bye FrontPage..

Wow - no Outlook in the Home and Student version this time. I guess it is either OE, Mail (in VISTA) or buy Outlook as a stand alone.

Yeah I guess, but how many of them really used it? Do you think it will be that big of a deal?

Forget Outlook (and IE7).  Mozilla Firefox 1.5.x and Thunderbird 1.5.x will be much better.  And FREE.
